In its endeavor to build a scientific attitude and creative thinking among the students, Delhi Public School, Budgam organised an Inter School Science Carnival 2017 on 23rd Sep. 2017. On this occasion Dr. Kowsar, Associate professor NIT Srinagar was consented to be the Chief Guest while the event was judged by Mr. Mohammad Yousuf, Prof. Deptt. of Physics and Mr. Zahoor Ahmad, Physics Deptt. of Science and Mr. Arshid Masoodi, Prof. Dept of Physics, Amar Singh College Srinagar.
It was a great event as the students of different schools were invited to take part. The programme started with a welcome song. Then the students imitated the scientists of their choice. The magic of science tricks was spread everywhere. Students were seen presenting different scientific experiments before the audience. Power Point presentations were depicting new scientific discoveries were presented by the students in such a way that everyone was spell bound. The presentations on food adulteration and its harmful effects were presented and discussed at length. On this occasion a science quiz was also conducted where in the students showed extra ordinary skills and were quite enthusiastic. The Chief guest on this occasion said that the whole carnival was very catchy and every activity was well presented. She further added that a good teacher can revolutionise everything. Even in the lack of facilities important discoveries have happened. Presently we have everything but we lack the attitude. She said that the ample opportunities available should be utilized nicely. The students had a long interactive session as well wherein the students tried hard to clear their doubts. The chief guest added that she has taken the initiative of making a lab in NIT Srinagar where the students are always welcomed. She said we are fortunate because we have the access to knowledge.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Principal DPS BUDGAM.
