Students of class 1st visited General Post Office, Srinagar on 4th August, 2018. The aim of this trip was to introduce students to the joys of posting letters in the age of instant communication and email.
The students and teachers were welcomed by the staff at the post office. The children were taken around to see how letters are collected, segregated, stamped and then stored in pigeon holes for the postman to collect. It was altogether a learning experience. The children had a glance of various departments catering to the public namely those selling stamps and envelops.
The children were explained the way the parcels and registered posts are delivered to different places in the city and places in the country. While returning we got to see a “National Speed Hub” where the parcels and important business documents are received. It was delightful to see the excitement on the faces of our children.
