Field visits reinforces the students, makes the topic interesting and help them to understand the topic better. It also cultivates social skills among the students.
DPS Budgam often arrange such trips, so that students enjoy learning. On 13th of August, 2018 the school organized one such educational trip, where the students of Nursery, LKG & UKG visited a farm at Kanihara Chadoora. Students were very curious to learn and observe. The main purpose of this visit was to understand conventional farming.
There were small vegetable patches near the entrance of huge paddy fields that didn’t seem to end. The adventure started with the lush green organic paddy fields followed by other vegetable patches. Different types of vegetable saplings as well as vegetables were shown to the students. Students saw tomatoes, bottle gourd ready to be picked, cucumbers, beans, cabbages, cauliflower etc. Students also saw the vast corn fields. This way, they learnt where from we actually get our different kinds of food.
The visit created episodic memories which the students will remember for long. After gaining wonderful experience and calling it a day, students were taken to Kanil Park where they had their lunch and then returned to the campus.
